Privacy and Cookie Statement

It applies to the collection, processing, use, management and storage of personal data in the context of the use of the Internet pages of Learnenglishwithfiona.com and FS Consulting both owned by Fiona Stöber (also known as Fiona-Simpson Stöber), hereinafter referred to as “author”, including the author’s web shop, as well as the social media pages owned and run by Fiona Stöber (Fiona Simpson-Stöber)
f you send us information via the web pages, you agree in accordance with Art. 6(1)(a), 7 DSGVO (General Data Protection Regulation) that we may process your personal data within the framework of the principles set out here.
Collection and use of personal data
“Personal data” is data that can be unambiguously attributed to a person, either independently or in combination with other data.
The legal basis for processing personal data is a legitimate interest, in particular for answering inquiries, e.g. via the contact form
for the implementation of direct marketing measures and competitions for the fulfillment of a contract or pre-contractual measures for the effective provision of our services to you and our customers as well as if you have consented to the use for the specifically stated, lawful purposes or if we are obliged to do so for legal and statutory reasons such as record keeping for tax purposes.
Every access to our website and every retrieval of a file stored on this website is logged. The storage serves internal system-related and statistical purposes. We collect and process personal data for the purpose of processing your order, carrying out direct marketing activities and competitions, contacting you and processing your inquiries in this context.
By filling in forms on our website, by establishing a contractual relationship (e.g. via the webshop), by changing the content or by sending us a fax, a letter or an email, by contacting us by phone or in person in the context of an event (e.g. trade fair) or by participating in a competition, you provide us with your personal data. This information includes, for example, name, position, company, contact details such as business or private e-mail address, telephone number and business address, date of birth, delivery address as well as your personal wishes and requirements in relation to specific inquiries or services. We use this personal data to process your inquiries and/or to provide the requested services or information, as well as to the extent necessary for participation in a competition.
Your personal data will only be passed on to third parties or otherwise transferred if this is necessary for the purpose of contract processing, in particular the transfer of order data to suppliers (for example, transport companies, shipping companies) or for billing purposes (forwarding to the bank involved in the transactions) or if you have previously consented.
Furthermore, addresses and order data are collected and processed for our own marketing purposes.
If you register for one of our events, we may share your name, job title, professional address with other participants in that event via the list of participants.
Learnenglishwithfiona also processes your contact data for the purpose of maintaining our business contacts if we have received them as part of a business event, as part of a business appointment (e.g. by exchanging business cards) or as part of an order, and transfers them to the system we use.
A cookie is a small text file that is transferred from a web server to the hard drive of an Internet user. If the corresponding server of our Internet pages is called up again by the user of the Internet pages and/or the customer, the browser of the user of the Internet pages and/or the customer sends the previously received cookie back to the server. The server can then evaluate the information obtained through this procedure in various ways. Cookies can be used, for example, to control advertising or to make it easier to navigate a website.
By confirming the cookie declaration displayed the first time you visit the website or by continuing to visit and use the website after the declaration has been displayed, you agree to the storage of cookies on your computer.
Session cookies: We use session cookies. In a web store, for example, these enable a cross-page shopping cart display in which you can see how many items are currently in your shopping cart. Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser.
Use of third-party cookies
If you call up individual pages of our website, the following data will be stored:
Two bytes of the IP address of the calling system of the user.
The web page called up
The website from which you accessed our website
The subpages that you call up on our website
The time you spend on our website
The time of your visit to our website
The frequency with which you visit our website
Your IP address is immediately pseudonymized during this process, so that you are not recognizable to us as a user. The data is not passed on to third parties.
Our legitimate interest is in a statistical analysis of user behavior and for optimization and marketing purposes in accordance with Art. 6 (1) lit. f DSGVO.
Use of the Facebook button
Our website uses the button of the social networks Instagram.com and facebook.com. These particular services are operated by Facebook Inc, 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA. The button is marked with the Facebook logo “f” and the addition “Like”. When you call up a web page on our website that contains the button, your browser establishes a direct connection with Facebook’s servers. The information about the button is transmitted by Facebook directly to your browser and integrated by it into the website, Facebook simultaneously receives the information that this page is called up. If you are logged into Facebook at this moment, Facebook can assign the visit to your Facebook account – even if you do not click the button. If you click the “Like” button, the corresponding information is transmitted from your browser directly to Facebook and stored there.
We use the plugin of the service YouTube, which belongs to Google Inc. based in San Bruno/California, USA. The plugin is recognizable on our site by the symbol of the black “YouTube” or the red video icon, or there is also a current video that can be clicked. If you select the symbol, content or term on one of our pages that contains such a button, your browser establishes a direct connection with the servers of Youtube. The YouTube server thus receives information about which particular page of our website you have visited. If, on top of this, you are logged in to your YouTube account, you would enable YouTube to assign your surfing behavior directly to your personal profile. You can prevent this possibility of association if you log out of your account beforehand.
On learnenglishwithfiona.com as well as beyond (online, in the social media sites used by the publisher), we offer you to participate in competitions organized by us. The prizes are always sent to you by us. The author uses a transport company for this purpose. We use the data provided as part of the participation in the competition exclusively for the purpose of processing the prizes. The legal basis for the processing of data in the context of the prize draw is Art. 6 (1) b) DSGVO. Your data will be deleted no later than four weeks after the draw, unless a longer period is specified in the sweepstakes. The legal basis for the transmission of data to the respective transport partner (usually dhl) is Art. 6 para. 1 b) DSGVO.
Some of our internet offers contain hyperlinks to other websites that are not operated by us. We do not monitor these websites and do not assume any responsibility with regard to their content, compliance with security standards or compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation.
